Restoring Relationships Through Humility

Matthew 5:39–41

But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.

1-Give love to those who seek to  humiliate you

 3-Give counsel to those who seek to  control you 

  • The value of generosity
  • 3 Ways to keep others from  controlling you 
  1. Ask, “Is it God’s will?”
  2. Ask, “Are they someone else’s responsibility?”
  3. Ask, “Is this the right time for me to give more time?”
  • 3 Areas that need us to go  “the extra mile” 
  1. Work relationships – 10-20 minutes early is on time
  2. Home relationships – Half done is not done: doing the bare minimum
  3. Marriage relationships – injecting love into a relationship
